For many towns like Brookhaven and their villages, one event is helping revitalize them. That being main street festivals. The MS festival app helps vendors and locals easily and quickly participate in their local festivals.

Being a business owner and or being a vendor in a festival is a lot to handle. Without having a centralized way to plan, organize and register for different festivals it can bar people from even participating.
The goals for the MS festivals is to :
The past decade or so many of the villages throughout the town of Brookhaven have begun creating festivals for their main streets, as a means to garner more attention to the village and the local businesses that reside there. This is where the idea for the app originally came from.
As part of my research I surveyed 50 people from Brookhaven which helped me get an idea of the needs for the user base that would use this app
Overall there wasn't a lot of fully functioning event type planning apps. Many of them seemed outdated and or support was dropped years ago. There was some apps that I was able to get some good insight from. Those being Pro Party, Gov Ball NYC and One Plan. In particular I would like to highlight One Plan, a service that provides possibly all the tools to organize any sized festival. There’s features such as crowd, traffic and staff management and other general infrastructure/ management features.
Below is my user flow. It's a pretty straight flow of a user signing up and them creating a layout.
After my research I was able to create three unique user personas. These personas best show the different types of business owners who would be looking to be vendors. Of course it's not just limited to these three, but they serve as good outlines.
I created a mood board and style guide to help guide me as I transition from wireframes to finals design
When I went on from my my wireframes I had great foundation, which brought me to verison one. After much feedback and prototyping I created a much improved version two. View my process deck/figma file to view the full iterations .
Originally with my wireframes I went for more of a 3D perspective for the maps and using actual objects for layouts. In my final design this changed to a street view and just simple shapes as it was easier for users to use after some testing and feedback.
Below is the journey map for Eric Lorenzo. A Perfect Candidate to test drive the app.
The simple nature of the app lends itself to the user being able to quickly get up and running. Check out my Figma File and Process Deck Below.
